Overview
This is the second in a wider series focusing on education systems in Africa. This session will focus on school and HE education in Ethiopia. There will be a focus on the award title changes at school level Grades 10 and Grades 12 and a review of historic qualifications, with a particular focus on the evolution and changes associated with the Grade 12 award across an extended time period. Typical HE qualifications and related documentation will also be reviewed.
The session will include authentic documentation to support attendees to recognise important features, as well as qualification comparabilities and changes to education systems.
Objectives
The key objectives of the training are:
- To familiarise with commonly seen school and HE qualifications from Ethiopia
- To recognise features of documentation
- To see examples of authentic case studies
- To understand qualification comparabilities related to duration and dates of completion within the context of old and new education systems.

Recommended for anyone whose work involves the consideration of students from Ethiopia.
