May Half Term- GYMNASTICS Camp 2025

Dear Parent/Carer

Thank you so much for signing your child up to the “Talent Dance Academy"  May Half Term  GYMNASTICS  Camp at Godmanchester Community Academy. In this email you will find lots of helpful information for you and your child, about the DANCE camp that is happening on Tuesday 27th  May 2025

Before I get started, I would like to apologise for the length of this email! but I wanted to make everything is clear for you and hopefully I’ll answer all questions you may have. There is parking at the school, however it is limited and the car park is small. Alternatively, you can park in the public car park opposite the school or on the road. 

Drop off

For the Camp, drop off and registration is between

8.30am- 9.00am

Children will meet their coach at the main school office.

Collection

Collection is at between 3.15pm and 3.30pm, from the same place as drop off.

Payment

Please ensure you have paid for your child’s place before the event. No cash will be taken on the day and if payment isn’t made prior to the day, your child unfortunately will not be able to attend.

If your child has changed their mind and you no longer require the place, please let me know before the day of camp so I can offer their place to someone else.

What to bring?
Children need to wear suitable clothing and footwear. I advise they wear trainers and bring weather appropriate clothes, although the camp will be held inside children will get the chance to go out for some fresh air at lunch, proving the weather is behaving! Please bring a spare change of clothes (just in case!) Please make sure everything is named!

Please also bring a packed lunch, snacks and a water bottle.

The camp has a strict NO NUTS policy.

If there are any food allergies, I need to be made aware of, please contact me prior to the day.

Camp information

We aim to start just after 9am once all children have arrived. Children will have a welcome talk, followed by a chat about safety and the things we will be doing to keep them safe at their camp.

The days will then be broken into sections. Children will learn themed  routines which we will film and place onto our secure website, which is passcode protected. (The code will be sent out in a separate email) Children will get breaks and a chance to make themed crafts and play games between learning their routines.  Children will also get the chance to have a themed mini photo shoot in costume! 

Photographic Permission

At present we will still be recording the dances and place them onto our website www.talentdanceacademy.co.uk this will be passcode protected and only the TDA family will have the code and be able to see them. We also use some images on our social media Facebook page so parents can see what their child has got up to on the day. Photos and recording are used to promote the camps and to show and inform parents about what has happened at the camps. If you have any concerns around this and do not wish for your child to take part in our recordings or photos please get in touch. You will also be asked on the day if you consent to photos and recording being taken of your child. Any questions around this again please get in touch.

We will also be having a mini photo shoot all in costume!

Props and costumes

Props and costumes play a vital role in our camps and we feel it really helps the children to get into their roll they might be playing within their routine. However, if you do not wish for your child to wear or use our props and costumes, please let me know prior to your child attending the camp. We always clean or wash our props prior to each camp.

If you wish to cancel your child's place please email us directly at talentdancecademy@hotmail.co.uk and provide your child's full name, and the account details you wish us to send the money back to.

Refunds will only be issued if you let us know 48 hours before the start of the camp. If you let us know on the day of the camp or less than 48 hours, a refund will not be issued. This is due to planning the routines, preparing the props and also buying the craft for the students.
