What is it?
This qualification is designed to provide learning and development practitioners with a qualification to confirm competency in assessment practice when assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace
Who is it for?
This qualification attracts aspiring assessors who wish to assess on vocational coaching courses (where learner assessments are simulated). Individuals must have access within their current role to assess learners on qualifications or accredited programmes of study with assessments in the relevant environment.
What’s the format?
This qualification involves face to face tutored delivery, a virtual tutored session and completion of portfolio tasks. Learners are required to have access within their current role, to assess learners on qualifications or accredited programmes of study in order to complete all elements of the qualification.
What will be assessed?
-complete a series of written tasks contained with the Learner Portfolio
Prior to registration learners are required to:
-be accurately identified
-be 19 years of age or over
-be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing)
-have access to assess non-work environment qualifications/assessments.
Please note; this qualification is not appropriate for practitioners aspiring to assess NVQs or other work based competency qualifications
Having gained further experience in assessment practice, learners could progress to the 1st4sport Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
Successful learners are eligible to seek employment in appropriate paid or voluntary assessing roles within their specialist subject area, assessing knowledge based qualifications, and vocational qualifications which have non-work based assessment.
Who supports this qualification?
The qualification is recognised as the industry standard assessing qualification covering all environments for the further education and skills sector by the Education & Training Foundation.
If learners do not have access to assessors (that meet the assessor criteria) in their own environment and need to use Sport Structures assessors to complete the tasks away from the course, a fee will apply. This will be discussed on day one of the learning programme.
- Please be aware that we need to achieve a minimum requirement of learners to be able to confirm the course is going ahead.
- We aim to communicate a cancellation with learners 7-14 days in advance of the course date.
