'This is the minimum operating standard for assistant coaches in Korfball. This course will enable you to support the delivery of Korfball sessions with confidence, exploring the basic rules and techniques through the game.'
Course Information
This course allows you to gain introductory knowledge of the skills and rules of the game which will enable you to assist lead coaches in introducing Korfball to beginners. The course outcomes are as follows:
• To understand the fundamental principles of coaching sport through online learning.
• To identify and apply the basic individual skills, rules and techniques in Korfball
• To understand the principles of planning, conducting and evaluating activities in Korfball
To aid you in your coaching, you will be provided with a learning resource containing all the relevant information such as the rules of korfball, korfball techniques and basic coaching principles which you can utilise throughout the course and when putting your qualification into practice in your own coaching environment.
As part of your qualification and to provide you with a basis of knowledge before attending the course, you will be required to complete some online learning. You will receive this with your pre-course information, usually a week before your course start date.
Pre-requisites
Learners are required to be aged 16 years or over, prior to registration and have had some experience in coaching / volunteering.
Cancellations
- Please be aware that we need to achieve a minimum requirement of learners to be able to confirm the course is going ahead.
- We aim to communicate a cancellation with learners 7-14 days in advance of the course date.
Terms and Conditions
- If you cancel within 7 days or fail to attend the course without good reason (at the sole discretion of Sport Structures), the full fee will apply.
- If you cancel within 14 days of the qualification then 50% of cost will be returned to you
- Once payment and the application form is returned, confirmation of course details will be sent 7 days prior to the course.
- If Sport Structures cancels the course, you will automatically be booked onto the next available course date.
- We advise that accommodation / train tickets should not be booked until a course confirmation letter is received or a Sport Structures member of staff confirms that the course is definitely going ahead as we will not refund expenses incurred
- In the event of a tutor not being able to tutor a course at short notice due to an emergency, we will contact you to inform you and re-organise the course.
- The information provided by the applicant will be stored on the Sport Structures CIC Database and held in accordance with the Data Protecting Act 1998.
