*We will require a minimum of 14 learners for the course to take place. The maximum number of learners on the course will be 21.
The England Handball Level 1 Award in Coaching Handball is aimed at coaches in a club or team environment, working with youth participants aged 8-14. The course will enable learner coaches to become assistants and support more qualified coaches in their environment. The coach education programme is structured around gaining a basic knowledge of 'who' you're coaching, 'what' you're coaching and 'how' you're coaching. This all encompassing understanding of coaching, at Level 1 standard, prepares coaches well for the UKCC 1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Handball.
The two day programme will challenge learner coaches to engage in active learning, peer coaching and observation along with feedback and opportunities to make sense of practice; supported by England Handball coach educators. Learner coaches are challenged to apply learning off course and supplement this with guided learning in the form of developing a blog about their experiences.
This fully redesigned learning experience put the emphasis on the learner doing the learning, in a well supported and developmental setting. Each learner will receive a learner resource, packed full of sample activities, information and signposts to further active learning.

Terms and Conditions
- If you cancel within 7 days or fail to attend the course without good reason (at the sole discretion of Sport Structures), the full fee will apply.
- If you cancel within 14 days of the qualification then 50% of cost will be returned to you
- Once payment and the application form is returned, confirmation of course details will be sent 7 days prior to the course.
- If Sport Structures cancels the course, you will automatically be booked onto the next available course date.
- We advise that accommodation / train tickets should not be booked until a course confirmation letter is received or a Sport Structures member of staff confirms that the course is definitely going ahead as we will not refund expenses incurred
- In the event of a tutor not being able to tutor a course at short notice due to an emergency, we will contact you to inform you and re-organise the course.
- The information provided by the applicant will be stored on the Sport Structures CIC Database and held in accordance with the Data Protecting Act 1998.
