Overview
9 - 10 Dec 2020, 09:30 - 16:30
Covid-19 has and will impact the future of UK research in many different ways. With the 2020 REF delayed and laboratories closed, there are many short-term changes to adapt to. However, the challenges facing research will be broad and long-lasting.
The government has indicated that research and innovation is a key priority, and has a target of 2.4% of GDP in research investment. In the wake of the global pandemic, will the government double down on this goal? To what extent will these plans be disrupted by the financial fallout of the crisis? And how can the sector best position itself both to support the UK recover and capitalise on new opportunities?
