This online session will give an overview of the structure of the education system in Ghana with a focus on the West African Senior School Certificate and undergraduate qualifications.

It includes practical guidelines on the interpretation and understanding of educational documentation.

Target Audience

This course is recommended for university and college staff involved with entry to undergraduate courses. The course will also be useful to people from professional bodies, nationality & immigration solicitors, recruiters, work permit and visa agencies, careers / guidance / refugee and asylum seekers advisers.

Objectives

The key objectives of the training are to:

  • Acquire greater familiarity of the West African Senior School Certificate as university entrance qualification in Ghana and how this can be applied in the UK

  • Understand the main types of qualifications at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

  • Understand how higher education is organised and the types of institutions
