Briefing on the Indonesian education system: high school exams, institutional status and university rankings - an interactive webinar

Overview

This online session will give an overview of the Indonesian education system with a focus on two key areas of interest: recent changes in high school examinations, and higher education accreditation.

It includes practical guidelines on interpreting high school transcripts, checking institutional status, and understanding in-country university rankings.

Target Audience

Recommended for university and college staff, professional bodies, recruiters, work permit and visa agencies, careers/ guidance/ refugee and asylum seekers advisers.

Objectives

  • Understand the broad structure of the Indonesian education system and how school and undergraduate qualifications compare with the UK's education system
  • Understand high school (SMA / SMK) exams, grading systems and university admissions in Indonesia
  • Learn about different types of higher education institution and their accreditation, including the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) rankings
  • Learn how to check institutional status using the UK NARIC International Comparisons database and the BAN-PT website.
