International Grade Comparisons (IGC) is a UK NARIC database
of over 130 countries. It allows users to compare examination grades in key
qualifications from across the world to UK standards. This contextualises
student performances, gives clarity to levels of achievement and informs
thresholds that are based on examination grades.
In this online session we will explore how IGC can be used
to help with decision-making by determining what suitable levels of student
performances might be, especially within international admissions.
The webinar uses real-life case studies, provides tips on
getting the best out of the database and shows how IGC can be used in tandem
with other UK NARIC services.
This is recommended for staff in universities and colleges
involved in the recruitment and admission of international students. This
session is targeted both at members who already use IGC and to those who would
be interested in subscribing to it.
The key objectives of the webinar are to:
Explore the main features of International Grade Comparisons
Explain how international grade performances can be compared to UK standards
Provide a practical demonstration on how to get the best out of the database
Help understand what is meant by a ‘good grade’
Delegates will receive a copy of all materials used.
