Overview

This online session will give an overview of the structure of the Indian school education system with a focus on Standard X and Standard XII qualifications.

It includes practical guidelines on the interpretation and understanding of educational documentation.

Target Audience

This course is recommended for university and college staff involved with entry to undergraduate courses. The course will also be useful to people from professional bodies, nationality & immigration solicitors, recruiters, work permit and visa agencies, careers / guidance / refugee and asylum seekers advisers.

Objectives

The key objectives of the training are to:

  • Understand of the structure of the Indian secondary school education system and how the associated qualifications compare with the UK's education system

  • Understand where to find further information about the Boards of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education

  • Understand whether English and Maths levels from secondary qualifications meet GCSE grades 9-4 from different Boards of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education
