TNE and international student mobility: how is COVID-19 re-shaping the landscape?

Overview

To what an extent is COVID-19 challenging the sustainability of the pre-dominant model of internationalisation based on international student mobility? What will be the lasting impact of COVID-19 on international student recruitment? Will TNE grow as a consequence? Can TNE be an alternative to international student mobility? What are the relationships between these two modes of internationalisation, conflictual, complementary, virtuous?

In this webinar we will be discussing about these and other issues with two leading experts and fine analysts on international education and TNE matters:

  • Prof. Nigel Healey Professor of International Higher Education and Vice-President (Global and Community Engagement) at the University of Limerick, previously Vice-Chancellor at Fiji National University, and PVC at Nottingham Trent University, Manchester Metropolitan University and University of Canterbury (New Zealand)

  • Janet Ilieva founder and director of Education Insight, co-creator of the recently launched Global Engagement Index for UK Universities, and with previous roles at the British Council and HEFCE.

This will be an interactive session with the possibility for delegates to ask questions and inform discussion.
