Overview
International education is seeing rapidly increasing applications from Nigeria and Ghana and a solid familiarity with the education systems and key qualifications is critically important to support fair and transparent admissions processes.
This session will cover secondary and higher education of the two countries, with an in-depth focus on specific qualifications, accreditation, and provide practical guidelines on the interpretation and understanding of typical application documentation received. The West African Senior School Certificate will be an important focus, as well as typical undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.
This will be a highly interactive session and will last 3 hours.
Objectives
The key objectives of the training are to:
• Provide attendees with an in-depth review of the Nigerian and Ghanaian education systems
• Discuss specific features of documentation to understand applications and applicants’ education history and suitability for study
• Focus on case studies and delve into some of the specific issues that may arise when assessing these qualifications
• Develop the ability to identify and classify qualifications within the extensive range of awards available within each sector of these education systems.

This course is recommended for university and college staff involved with entry to undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
