Overview
This webinar is part of a wider series focusing on school and higher education in Europe. This session will focus on the education system of Bulgaria.
The session will span a range of education levels and qualifications. At school level, this will include the lower secondary Certificate of Basic Education (Свидетелство за завършено основно образование), and the two stages of upper secondary education with a focus on the Certificate of Completed First Stage of Secondary Education (Удостоверение за завършен гимназиален първи етап на средно образование). This will also include State Matriculation Examinations, (държавни зрелостни изпити) also known as the Matura and its associated award of the Diploma of Secondary Education from a general high school and from a vocational high school (Диплома за средно образование) as well as Diploma of Completed Secondary Specialised Education (Диплома за средно специално образование).
Common HE qualifications will also be reviewed - both historic and current - including the Diploma of Intermediate Higher Education (Диплома за полувисше образование) the Diploma of Completed Higher Education (Диплома за висше образование ), and the Specialista (Специалист по) as well as pre- and post- Bologna qualifications at Bachelors (including the Professional Bachelors) and Masters level.
The session will include authentic documentation to support attendees to recognise important features, as well as qualification comparabilities, changes to the education systems, and accreditation.

To familiarise with commonly seen school and HE qualifications from Bulgaria
To recognise features of documentation
To see examples of authentic case studies
To understand qualification comparabilities.
