Focus on admissions

Overview

Trainers in this session will discuss key themes and considerations around credential evaluation, meeting immigration requirements and English language proficiency to ensure that delegates understand the important elements of best practice in international student admissions and how these can be applied.

There will be a focus on the development of a systematic approach to the evaluation of overseas qualifications, allowing staff to identify the most able and appropriate students and make an offer.

This will be a highly interactive session and will last 3 hours.

Target Audience

This course is recommended for university and college staff involved with entry to undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Objectives

The key objectives of the training are to:

•             Support the understanding and development of a robust and transparent admissions process

•             Outline considerations and factors associated with different stages of admissions

•             Discuss and identify best practice in international education admissions

•             Provide hands-on practice with typical admissions case studies and situations including more complex case studies

Note: There will be practical exercises on the day. Please bring a pen and notebook or paper and a laptop (rather than a tablet or phone).

The standard cost to attend this training session is £225 for members and £275 for non-members.
