This session will give an overview of the structure of the Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi education systems with a focus on entry to tertiary studies, higher education, accreditation as well as recent developments and changes.

It includes practical guidelines on the interpretation and understanding of educational documentation from these countries.

Target Audience

This course is recommended for university and college staff involved with entry to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The course will also be useful to people from professional bodies, nationality & immigration solicitors, recruiters, work permit and visa agencies, careers / guidance / refugee and asylum seekers advisers.

Objectives

The key objectives of the training are to:

• Achieve an understanding of the structure of the Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi education systems including secondary, vocational / occupational and higher education and how these compare with the UK's education system
• Provide a greater comprehension of the Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi education systems and discuss the key problems which arise when assessing their qualifications
• Develop the ability to identify and classify qualifications within the extensive range of awards available within each sector of these education systems
