Cookery and Nutrition Course for Boys and Girls

The course is aimed at children in school Years 4 -8
Cost: 10.00am-4.00pm - £55 per day.
Child care: 08:00 – 10:00; £5 per hour or part of it.

Each day will have a different countries’ food culture and cuisine as its focus. We will be looking at different dishes from different regions and discussing ingredients used. Three dishes will be cooked a day and pupils will eat what they have made for lunch (welcome to bring packed lunch if they would prefer).
Everyone will make something to take home too.
Monday -Mexican
Tuesday- Cajun and creole
Wed- Thai
Thursday- Spanish
Friday – Chinese
Please do let me know well in advance of any allergies or dietary requirements.
All pupils are required to bring a 1 litre labelled container with them for take home dishes.
Child care: They will have the opportunity to do non-cooking activities. These activities might involve computer games, reading, origami, or other independent activity.
Cookery will start 10:00am.
The earliest an attendee can be dropped off for the 10:00 start without having to pay £5 per hour or part of it, is 09:55.
Participants should bring a snack, a packed lunch and a drink.
All participants are required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Long hair must be tied back.
Everybody will be wearing an apron while working but clothes might still get food on. So, don’t wear the best outfit.
During cold weather, rather wear layers than one warm coat or jumper.
Dropping off and picking up can be done at the large red metal gates next to the DT workshop at the back door. The person picking up an attendee must please sign him/her out on the list.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS/CANCELLATION
1. Please note that this activity is run by an external provider on Beacon School premises.
2. The individual has satisfied all the necessary criteria required by the school.
3. Relevant medical information including allergy and intolerance must be provided
4. I understand that minimum numbers are required to run each Club/Activity. In the event of the Club/Activity being cancelled the external provider will notify me by phone.
5. I understand that the Clubs/Activity is subject to cancellation or alteration in the event of unsuitable weather conditions or other factors which may arise that are beyond the providers’ control.
6. I give permission for my child to participate in activities as indicated in the Program.
7. I authorise the provider to use for publicity and advertising purposes, photographs of participants taken at the Club/Activity (please inform Club/Activity Coordinator if children cannot be photographed).
8. A handling charge will be made in the event of a Cancellation.
9. I will supplied all dietary and allergy information before my child attends the course.
10. If an attendee does not behave or co-operate they will not be allowed to continue attending the club and fees will be forfeited.
