What is it?
This qualification is designed to provide learning and development practitioners with a qualification to confirm competency in assessment practice when assessing occupational competence in an individual’s work environment
Who is it for?
Learners who complete this qualification usually seek employment in appropriate paid or voluntary assessing roles within their specialist subject area, assessing competence based qualifications (eg NVQs), knowledge based qualifications, and vocational qualifications which have non-work based assessment. Individuals must have access within their current role to assess learners for qualifications, programmes of study with assessment, or job related assessments in the relevant environments.
What’s the format?
This qualification involves face to face tutored delivery, a virtual tutored session and completion of portfolio tasks. Learners are required to have access to assess both non-work environment qualifications/assessments and work environment qualifications/assessments.
What will be assessed?
To achieve the qualification, learners are required to have, in summary, assessed evidence of:
an appropriate knowledge and understanding of assessingoccupational competence and vocational achievement, which will be assessed viaperformance, tasks and assignments.
Planning, conducting and reviewing learner assessments
observation of assessment practice.
delivery of the four planned assessments for the two learners on anon-work environment qualification.
Entry Requirements
Priorto registration learners are required to:
-be accurately identified
-be 19 years of age or over
-be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing)
-have access to assess both non-work environment qualifications/assessments and work environment qualifications/assessments
Progression Opportunities
Successful learners are eligible to seek employment in appropriate paid or voluntary assessing roles within their specialist subject area, assessing competence based qualifications (eg NVQs), knowledge based qualifications, and vocational qualifications which have non-work based assessment.
Having gained further experience in assessment practice, learnerscould progress to the 1st4sport Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assuranceof Assessment Processes and Practice.
Who supports this qualification?
The qualification is recognised as the industry standard assessing qualification covering all environments for the further education and skills sector by the Education & Training Foundation.
Assessor Criteria
If learners do not have access to assessors (that meet the assessor criteria) in their own environment and need to use Sport Structures assessors to complete the tasks away from the course, a fee will apply. This will be discussed on day one of the learning programme.
Cancellations
- Please be aware that we need to achieve a minimum requirement of learners to be able to confirm the course is going ahead.
- We aim to communicate a cancellation with learners 7-14 days in advance of the course date.
