BattleGrounds - 17th April 2021

The session will focus on some of the “battle grounds” in a volleyball match.

What do we mean by “battle ground?"
In higher level volleyball certain skillsets often become pitted directly against one another. For instance, a spiker may battle a defender whose skills can prevent the attack from being effective, or a good sever can put the ball into play in a way that makes the opponents’ formation  unable to respond offensively.

To help athletes understand the dynamics of these battles, the session concentrates on specific skills that directly oppose each other, such as service and service reception, or executing and defending the attack.  This will be a more individualized tuition.  Cost of the course is £65.

On Saturday they will review the battle ground, serve against reception that was taught in December, including the defenders’ transition to attack, and then move on to the attack against defence battle, including the defenders’ transition to attack.
